Finance Manager (Sydney – Australia)

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data by reconciling accounts and verifying transactions.
  • Issue invoices to customers for goods or services rendered.
  • Reconcile bank statements with company accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Generate financial reports and analysis as required by management or regulatory authorities.
  • Provide support during audits by preparing supporting documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Monitor and track company expenses, ensuring compliance with budgetary guidelines and expense policies.
  • Review and process employee expense reports, verifying receipts and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, including & GST returns.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct financial analysis and variance analysis to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial data and analysis.
  • Assist in special financial projects or initiatives as assigned by management.
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests for financial information or analysis in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Additional certifications such as CPA or CA (Chartered Accountant) would be advantageous.
  • Minimum 5-8 experience in accounting or finance roles, with a solid understanding of financial principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Familiarity with financial reporting standards and regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail & accuracy in financial record keeping and analysis.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the achievement of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial information. Compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
